"Disease may seem like an awful thing and often we take the medical care we receive for granted, sometimes we even curse it. But not everyone has this privilege, it's almost inconceivable that something that we would consider such a rudimentary right is largely unavailable to the majority of the earth's population.
When my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time, it seemed like the dark cloud that had hung over us for almost a decade had descended. But in many ways my mother got lucky, she was sick, yes. The treatment was painful, the reminder almost unbearable but she lived. She had the chance to live but so many don't. So many people suffer incredible loss and pain because they cannot afford medical treatment. I just hope that one day the right to medical treatment will be available to everyone."
